As the grills begin to fire up and the sangria starts to flow, the first day of summer quickly approaches. Although the temperatures are beginning to resemble early summer here in Texas, my heart is still being woo'd by the breezy-feel of springtime. Before it gets to the point where I can bake cookies on my dashboard (yes, it is possible to do in the Texas summer heat), I am making it my mission to soak up as much springtime as I possibly can; both outdoors and in my walk-in closet. Like many bloggers, I am an avid Pinterest user. With more than 2,500 pins, I am never at a loss for style inspiration. One trend that particularly caught my eye was the vivid sight of floral print pants. No, not the unsightly print of your grandmother's "timeless" living room sofa, but the vivid floral pattern being rocked by all the young celebs; from Olivia Palermo to Miranda Kerr. They are everywhere! The fusion of bold colors with a lively floral pattern, inspired me to pull out a pair I had never even worn.
Many fashionistas dressed these statement pants up with a neutral blouse or blazer, a sleek pair of nude, ankle strap heels and completed the look with a large envelope clutch; two accessories that I will be raving about in many posts to come! This look is perfect for grabbing a light lunch with your girlfriends or making a quick pit stop at your favorite boutique to peek at the new arrivals they just received. Whatever the occasion may be, floral print pants are easy to dress up for summer and show off your fun and flirty alter ego.
Others chose a more casual look, choosing to slide on an adorable pair of wedges and a sleeveless tank. Equally as cute as the dressier version, no fashionista's outfit would be complete without a few accessories! A statement necklace and bright shoulder bag seal the deal on this look. Don't forget your rose gold though! Spring is the perfect time to channel your inner "Shah's of Sunset". I mean... who doesn't love GiGi?!
As for me, I wanted to dress up my pastel pink and mint green floral print pants with a blush-colored peplum top. The peplum top is accented with gold studs along the neckline and features a key hole on the back. Wedges were better suited for the errands I had to run today along with my mint green hobo bag. I layered up with a few gold bangles, a vintage leaf ring, and of course every Southern belle's necessity, a pair of pearls. I'm looking forward to these last few weeks of spring and the beginning of summer! Are you?
